Working With Certification Types

This article is for Administrators and members that have been granted the “Training Coordinator” role.

About Certification Types

The “Certification Tracking Module” must be activated within your organization’s account.

Certifications are anything with an expiration date that you wish to track. You can enter as many certification types as you’d like.

Required Certifications

You can also set certain certifications to be required to work if needed.

If a required certification date passes, when your member logs in to eSchedule, they will see the following message:

“One or more required certifications have expired. Your account has been set to read only. Please contact your system administrator.”

At this point, your member will not be able to bid/sign-on to any shifts. They will also not be able to clock in.

Adding a New Certification Type

  1. Navigate to “Training > Update Certification Types”.
  2. Click the “+” icon next to “Certification Types”.
  3. Enter a name for the certification in the “Certification” field.
  4. In the “Reminder” field, enter a number of days. This is the number of days prior to the certification expiration date that the member will begin to be alerted. Alerts happen after logging in, on the dashboard, and in the weekly member e-mail. For example, if you set a reminder period of “90” on a certification that expires on December 31, your member will be notified starting near the end of September.
  5. If the certification is required to work for any position(s), select accordingly.
  6. Click “Add”.

Deleting a Certification Type

  1. Navigate to “Training > Update Certification Types”.
  2. In the “Certification” column, select the name of the certification type you wish to delete.
  3. Click “Delete”.
  4. Click “Ok”. Important: Once a certification type is deleted, it can not be recovered. It will be permanently deleted from all member profiles.
